Introduction
‘Digital techniques’ is one of the prime subjects in the electronics world. In our first post, we start our discussion by dealing with the subject ‘ digital technique’, the basic ideas in designing digital electronics.

One Sunday morning, I was busy with my laundry after returning from a tour. I heard the calling bell sound as somebody pressed the call button as the door was closed. In a few seconds, I opened the door and I found my street friend Ramesh standing outside, along with two young men standing behind him.
“Hi, Ramesh, welcome to my house”. I welcomed my friend. Ramesh, “Hello, sir, how are you? It seems you are busy with something”. “Yes, of course, today being Sunday, I find some time to wash my clothes as I returned from my tour last night. Come inside. What is the matter?” I replied.
Ramesh introduced the two youths standing nearby; “he is Raju and that is Gopu. They are the sons of my two neighbour friends. These two are studying in a diploma course in electronics at the Government Polytechnic. They are in the second semester and are struggling to cope up with the digital electronics subject, which is a part of the syllabus in their curriculum.
I came to know that you are teaching digital electronics to such beginners. So, I brought them to you, expecting your help in coaching them the subject matter nicely. I also heard that you are teaching the subject with utmost care so that they understand even the hard core of the subject easily. Please help them so that they can secure good marks in the subject in the coming semester exam. I expect your expert advice in this matter and do the best”.
Raju and Gopu said that they both are studying in the same class and find it difficult to understand the basics of digital techniques such as Logic gates, Boolean algebra and practical experiments in their labs in the institute. I came to know that in the second semester, they are advanced with digital electronics syllabus and they find the subject a little bit hard to understand. They are unable to get academic help from their faculty as they are busy with their routines in the institute.
“As such, we want to know everything about digital techniques from scratch so that we can have a strong foundation in the subject. This will help us even for our future promotional studies, as digital electronics is the most trending subject at this current juncture of the electronics world. Please help us and we are obliged to come to you at your convenient time to study the subject” both opined this..
I replied, “I am glad that you have come to the right place to learn digital techniques from scratch. My tutorials are easy to understand and delivered in simple English so that everyone can understand and learn the subject in an easy and smart way. Skill development
This is how I have planned my blog articles so that any newbies can learn digital electronics. Students and electronics enthusiasts especially benefit greatly from my tutorials. The main aim of this blog is to make the ‘Logic Gate’ tutorial simple and, at the same time, impart deep knowledge by providing intrinsic details about digital techniques that they find difficult to understand.
I am sure the practical experiments based on ‘logic circuits’, explained here, help them to build skills in practical aspects so that later on they may be able to build utility-oriented digital electronics projects whenever the need arises. This skill development will be very useful when they venture into entrepreneurship projects for livelihood and development.
As such, the blog offers the salient features that help a newbie or budding digital electronics student become a full-fledged technocrat after pursuing these blog articles without skipping a single page.

I am a professionally qualified electronics service engineer and to my credit, I have put in more than three decades of service experience in the field of electronics as a technical trainer and service personnel.
Learning Digital Techniques made easy

As I am already a blogger, blogging with different subjects matter altogether, I am now doing this blog for the benefit of electronics enthusiasts, hobbyists, more specially to the beginners and students community to gain correct knowledge and skills in the successful building of digital electronics projects quickly and safely.
I am of the view that the digital electronics project building task should be a pleasurable one and the builder should enjoy the job of hooking up electronics circuit designs with utmost safe and fruitful manner. I have included a number of practical lessons in the subject matter as performing experiments and verifying the facts which was taught and explained in a detailed manner. This is a unique approach for the benefit of students and learners especially at the beginners level in understanding and having a thorough knowledge on digital electronics.

Digital Techniques
Digital techniques are now used virtually in every area of electronics. The greatest use is in computers, but apart from computers digital techniques are now widely employed in communication, telemetry, industrial controls and consumer equipment like Radio, TV, Watch, Clocks etc. as an electronics engineer, technician or hobbyist you can benefit by knowing digital techniques.
In this direction I am attempting to share the basic techniques in my coming posts in simple English so that a beginner can grasp the idea well for successful career building in the future. Experimental electronics will be an added advantage especially for the beginners to have a sound grasp of the subject. For everything in digital techniques, the prime aspect you should develop is in the subject ‘Logic Gates’
